The International Research Group on Law and Urban Space (IRGLUS) was formed in 1993 with the objective of gather professionals from diverse backgrounds and affiliations - academics, government officers, city planners, public administrators, NGO members, etc. - who are doing research on or with interest in the interface between law and urbanisation.

IRGLUS was in 1996 recognised as a Working Group of the Research Committee on Sociology of Law (RCSL) of the prestigious International Sociological Association (ISA).

Eastern Africa Land Administration Network (EALAN)

The Eastern Africa Land Administration Network (EALAN) is a platform where partners with an interest in land administration education and training and research in the Eastern Africa region come to exchange ideas, plans and country experiences for the betterment of the profession. EALAN does this through promoting collaboration with mainly academic partners. EALAN membership  includes the following:

Association of African Planning Schools (AAPS)

The Association of African Planning Schools (AAPS) is a voluntary, peer-to-peer network of over 50 urban and regional African institutions that educate and train urban/city and/or regional/rural planners. Established in 1999, AAPS facilitates the exchange of information among African planning schools and links African and international planning schools.

Network-Association of European Researchers on Urbanisation in the South (N-AERUS)

N-AERUS is a pluri-disciplinary network of researchers and experts working on urban issues in Developing countries. Founded in 1996 by a group of European researchers, N-AERUS seeks to mobilise and develop the European institutional and individual research and training capacities on urban issues in the South with the support of institutions and individual researchers with relevant experience in this field.

N-AERUS works in association with researchers and institutions in developing countries.
