Asia-Pacific Housing Forum; Bangkok, Thailand, 16-19 September
Taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, the seventh annual Asia-Pacific Housing Forum will gather global pioneers in housing, urban planning and sustainable development. GLTN encourages our partners to attend the Forum to share their innovative work in promoting tenure security as a key driver of sustainable cities and communities. With the theme “Powering collaboration for housing impact,” this year’s Forum aims to harness partnerships to advance housing as a driver of sustainable development. Housing is a key contributor to achieving positive outcomes around global goals related to water and sanitation, health and well-being, education and livelihood, gender equality, climate action and disaster resilience. The Forum will feature four main tracks:
- Impact to the max: Businesses are creating new opportunities for innovative partnerships to bring affordable housing solutions to scale.
- Promoting inclusion amidst rapid urbanization: Improving inclusive access to adequate and affordable housing is fundamental to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the goals of the New Urban Agenda.
- Fostering resilient cities and communities: Secure housing can help communities mitigate disaster risks and build long-term resilience.
- Responsive housing technologies: Advancement in technologies adds value to housing policies and interventions that serve the pressing needs of the most vulnerable.
- Improved understanding of pro-poor land tools, approaches, and techniques that can be used before and after a disaster to increase the resilience of vulnerable communities and facilitate policy makers’ decision-making in housing reconstruction.
- Promoted avenue for networking and lesson sharing among organizations involved in addressing land tenure issues and/or housing reconstruction.
